Leave Your Mark, Build Our Future

Every family has a name. Every story has a phrase that captures it. Every memory of a loved one deserves a place to live on. This fall, we're inviting you to give all three a permanent home — at Unity of Columbia.

We're building a new patio, paver by paver, and each one tells a story: a family name, a memory, a business proud to support its community, or a tribute to someone that still guides us. Your paver becomes part of something bigger than a walkway — it becomes part of the ground our community stands on.

Because this building has always been about more than Sunday mornings. Throughout the week, our doors open for AA and NA groups finding recovery and support, two daycares nurturing the next generation, a meditation center offering quiet in a noisy world, and workshops and classes that bring neighbors together to learn and grow, and community art events. Thousands of people pass through these doors every year — and for many, this is where they find connection, support, and belonging.

But our building needs some care of its own. Your paver purchase helps fund essential improvements: replacing aging windows, tuckpointing and painting our exterior, and installing an ADA-accessible bathroom — so this space can more attractively welcome everyone, for years to come.

So whether you're honoring a loved one, sharing a phrase that holds special meaning, or simply supporting a place that has given so much to our community, we'd love for your paver to become part of our patio. As a 501(c)(3) organization, all donations are tax-deductible. 

The patio will be installed on the south side of the building, pictured below, with a formal unveiling and appreciation ceremony planned for Spring 2027. The building improvements described above—including the window replacement, tuckpointing, painting, and ADA-accessible bathroom—will also take place in this area of the building.
